جاء هذا الكتاب ثمرة جهود جماعية قام بها عدد من الأساتذة والمتخصصين الذين اختارتهم لجنة التلاوة في جمعية المحافظة على القرآن الكريم للمشاركة في إعداد كتاب متكامل في أحكام التلاوة والتجويد.

وقد وُزعت موضوعات الكتاب على أعضاء اللجنة لإعدادها، ثم أُسندت إلى لجنة فرعية برئاسة الدكتور أحمد شكري والدكتور أحمد القضاة مهمة تنسيق الموضوعات وتوحيدها وترتيبها، ووضع الأسئلة المناسبة في نهاية الموضوعات، وإخراج المادة في صورة مترابطة وسهلة المتابعة.
